About My Piano Students

My piano students come from all regions of the Greater Vancouver area -- including Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Richmond, and Surrey.

They represent a full range of abilities and interests, from younger children just starting out, to young adults hoping to perform and teach, to adults with previous playing experience who are pursuing diplomas or playing for pleasure.

Testimonials

"Dr. Morgan is a truly dedicated and knowledgeable piano teacher.  He not only taught me the piano techniques that I needed to pass the ARCT (Piano)Teacher Diploma examinations, but also gave me confidence and motivation to pursue more in music.

Throughout our training sessions, Dr. Morgan was always patient, observant, detailed, kind, and creative. Most importantly, he always methodically simplifies complex passages in music, and gives thorough explanations and demonstrations so one can really understand piano playing in a logical manner.

I sincerely express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Morgan for his tremendous help and support."

Tammy Tai
Vancouver, BC

"Dr. Morgan is a dedicated teacher with a sincere love of music.  He's providing top-rate piano instruction for my daughter, Agnetha.  He has a very friendly approach, but maintains high standards and attention to detail.

Agnetha enjoys her lessons very much, and demonstrates the same attributes as her teacher. We are very pleased that she received First Class Honours on her recent exam with the Royal Conservatory. Thanks to Dr. Morgan for making it all possible."

Susan & Joe de Sa
Vancouver, BC

"I recently completed the requirements for the  ARCT (Piano Teaching) from the Royal Conservatory of Music. During the period when I was preparing for the examinations, Dr. Morgan was keen in bringing fresh, up-to-date perspectives to piano pedagogy and piano performance. I found the experience most rewarding."

Eric Lam M.A., M.Ed.
Vancouver, BC

"As a professional piano instructor, Dr. Morgan has greatly helped me improve my piano playing to a higher technical level and a greater level of expression and musicality. I enjoy studying with him as he is a meticulous teacher who is passionate about the art of music. He makes piano playing pleasurable, and heightened my confidence and sense of achievement.

Dr. Morgan has prepared me for various music festivals, and is currently readying me for London College examinations as well as a university-level audition. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Morgan. I really appreciate all that you’ve done for me."

Vivian Ng
Coquitlam BC

"As a parent of young music students, I would recommend Dr. Morgan to any family seeking a top teacher for a young child. Not only was he able to assist my daughter in receiving an RCM exam mark in the top 4% nationwide, but his sense of humour and gentle, leading teaching style naturally direct children forward towards success and excellence."

Rhiannon Morgan
Vancouver, BC

"Dr Morgan taught me the general principles of piano mechanics, which has helped me to develop a stronger and more beautiful tone.  Beyond this, his musicianship is impeccable, and he is a remarkably effective motivator; I consistently leave my lessons feeling energized and eager to do more."

Donald McKillican
New Westminster, BC

"Thank you for teaching me these last few years.  I might not have finished grade 10 piano without your help!"

Darlene Tam
Vancouver, BC

"During additional coaching sessions in preparation for my ARCT Performer's examination, I found Dr. Morgan to be an effective and sincere teacher. He was very knowledgeable about the pieces I played for him, and was able to effectively communicate his interpretations and ideas.

As a piano teacher myself, I noticed his love for teaching through the charisma he showed during lessons; no lesson with him was ever dull. His high standards helped me to become a better pianist."
