"Dr. Morgan is a truly dedicated and knowledgeable piano teacher. He not only taught me the piano techniques that I needed to pass the ARCT (Piano)Teacher Diploma examinations, he also gave me confidence and motivation to pursue more in music.
Throughout our training sessions, Dr. Morgan was always patient, observant, detailed, kind, and creative. "

"Dr Morgan taught me the general principles of
piano mechanics, which has helped me to develop a stronger and more
beautiful tone.
Beyond this, his musicianship is impeccable, and he is a
remarkably effective motivator; I consistently leave my piano lessons feeling
energized and eager to do more."

A Vancouver piano teacher with a doctoral degree in performance for lessons at all levels.
Including preparation for conservatory examinations, the ARCT diplomas, auditions, and competitions.
I teach Vancouver piano lessons at all levels -- including advanced repertoire -- all with an emphasis on achieving excellence and a high level of artistry.
Piano students benefit from a strong focus on the development of a physiologically-sound technique free of excessive tension, and achieve success at higher levels through strategies devised to overcome technical challenges.
Having performed as a soloist and chamber musican, I understand what is required both musically and technically to meet the challenges of more difficult music, and I know how to help piano students reach this stage in their own musical development.
My piano teaching qualifications
I hold a Doctoral degree (DMA) in Piano Performance and Literature, and Masters degrees in both Performance (MM) and Musicology (MA), all from the Eastman School of Music (ranked #1 among U.S. graduate music schools in U.S. News & World Report).
As an Examiner for Canada's Royal Conservatory of Music, I guide students to achieve the musical and technical requirements for success at each grade level, including the ARCT diplomas in both performance and teaching.
I have solid experience as a Vancouver piano teacher, having previously taught piano performance, piano pedagogy, music history and theory, and piano literature, both privately and in a university setting.
